What is a "Local" Independent Business?
Private, Employee, Community or Cooperative ownership
Owned in majority by area resident(s)
Full decision-making function for the business lies with its owner(s)
No more than 6 outlets, bases of operation lie within a single state
Business Membership (Non-Affiliated)
If you are a local independent business and do not belong to a GVIBA affiliate, annual membership dues are as follows:
Up to 10 employees: $50 annually.
11-25 employees: $75 annually.
Over 25 employees: $150 annually Business Membership (Affiliated)
If you are a local independent business and already belong to a GVIBA affiliate organization, membership fees are $10 annually. Current Local IBA affiliates include: Back Mountain Business Association
Kingston Area Merchants and Professionals Association
Luzerne Merchants Association
